About the Department
To serve as a video, audio, web-based, and photographic production specialist with the Indiana State Police, whose primary responsibilities are to capture video, take photographs, create recruit flyers and brochures, oversee agency multi-media presence on the internet, and create video productions for use by the agency for external and internal use.
Position Duties
- Take official photographs and video recordings at special events
- Produce and edit agency promotional and recruiting videos for broadcast on a multiplatform format.
- Maintain an extensive knowledge of theory and practice of audio, web-based, photographic, and video production practices.
- Maintain and monitor agency video productions posted on third-party websites.
- Content creation on all the Indiana State Police social media platforms. Knowledge of YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other emerging platforms.
- Creation of a centralized ISP digital brand for distribution on social media platforms.
- Expand content creation on existing social media recruiting campaigns.
- Collaborate with Hiring and Recruiting Coordinators to create content that aligns with ISP’s brand and historical tradition of Courage, Commitment, and Character to the citizens of Indiana.
- Develop strategies to respond to social media conversations and questions regarding ISP sworn and professional staff employment opportunities and other newsworthy events.
- Analyze metrics on social media platforms that offer story engagement.
- Understand current social media trends and align ISP content creation with those trends.
- Assist the 13 District PIOs with content creation and distribution on social media platforms consistent with the ISP brand.
- Maintain all camera, lighting, video, audio, and computer equipment assigned by the Department; perform weekly functional checks, periodic troubleshooting, and minor maintenance on that equipment; locate and maintain relationships with reasonably priced component equipment repair facilities.
- Coordinate, manage, and maintain all aspects of video and online productions.
- Remain current on the latest production techniques, trends, and developments in the video, web-based, and audio industry through continued training, trade publications, conferences, and seminars.
- Act as an agency advisor on the production of videos and web productions.
- Edit and enhance photographs, audio, and video productions as required.
- Post, monitor, and maintain agency presence on third-party video and photographic websites.
- Perform other duties and essential functions as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent G.E.D.
- Broad understanding of audio, video, and web-based productions.
- Broad-based knowledge of computer-based audio and video editing software.
- Minimum of 60 college credits in a related field and/or a minimum of two years practical job-related experience.
- Must be able to travel and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of projects and work output.
- Must have advanced knowledge of web-based video hosting services.
- Must be able to operate video and photographic equipment.
- Must be able to mix and edit sound for audio, video, and web-based productions.
- Must be able to stage, produce, compile, and edit video productions.
- Willing to work on deadlines with some projects requiring same day deadlines.
- Willingness to manage multiple projects and collaborate with ISP Recruiters and PIOs over the entire State of Indiana.
- Able to work both independently with little oversight as well as in a team setting.
Other Qualifications
