Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Tool and Die Technician to be based out of Tampa FL. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager. The Tool and Die Technician will be responsible for maintaining, cleaning, and painting all tooling, inspecting dies, mandrels, pins, and bushings for acceptable chrome, dimensions, damage, scratches, and ensuring all tooling stays in good working condition.
What you’ll do:
Tool and Die Technician's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible and ensuring product changeovers are made with the proper tooling per schedule
- Keeps an adequate amount of inventory on the shelf to keep up with the production demands, ex: heater bands, chrome cleaners
- Ensures all tooling/ tools are properly stored and kept safe to prevent damage to the tool & dies
- Coordinates chroming and maintenance to avoid interfering with the production schedule
- Investigate production and quality issues related to tooling
- Adhere to all safety policies/procedures
- Inspects, repairs, and performs electric and mechanical overhauls on all equipment such as VFDs, open and closed feedback servo loops, servo motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, motor control center devices, conveyor systems, and packaging and processing equipment
What you’ll bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 4 years of manufacturing and/or mechanical experience preferred
- Experience operating forklift
- Ability to start up an extrusion lines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to read and use different measurement tools
- Basic knowledge of mathematical principles
Within 3 months, you’ll:
- Become a strategic planner to minimize the changeover downtime
- Develop the tooling preventative maintenance program and keep current on the critical parts inventory.
- Responsible for the creation and implementation of best practice Tool Room vision, strategy, policies, and processes to aid and improve operational performance

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $29.00 per hour. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
