HX5 is currently seeking a qualified System Administrator Windows (Night Shift) to support of the MDA IRES program at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. The Systems Administrator supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain and troubleshoot virtual and physical servers/systems.
- Ensure system changes are completed in accordance with developer documentation, configuration management and
documentation practices - Make recommendations to plan, develop and execute work plans that achieve critical-path requirements
- Perform necessary physical inspections and research using system/event logs and appropriate tools/software to identify
problems, trends and aid in troubleshooting actions - Provide timely updates to appropriate team leads, managers and stakeholders on status of tasks and troubleshooting efforts
- Install, configure, and manage on-prem Active Directory environment including configuration and implementation of GPOs
- Assist integration leads and managers in problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation as needed
- Advise team members and leadership and make appropriate technical recommendations regarding system development issues and improvements, optimization tools and methods, process creation and development, and support efforts.
- Use REMEDY ticketing system to report, track and document incidents and resolution of actions on faulty systems
- Perform evening shift work, typically 1400-2200 but may change to meet off-hour mission activities
Salary:
This position is expected to pay $ 110,000 - $ 125,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and any
certifications that are directly related to the position.
Education and Experience:
- Must have 6, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
- May be reduced with completion of advanced education
- Must have 4, or more, years of directly relatable experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows operating systems and applications such as Windows Server 2022 and Windows 11
- Must have strong knowledge of Active Directory Users and Computers, Sites and Services, DNS, Group Policy, TCP/IP networking and LDAP.
- Must have experience with Multi Factor Authentication methodology
- Must have experience building, configuring and deploying servers/systems in a virtualized environment
- Must be able to interface with software engineers, system engineers, and subject matter experts to solve complex integration and technical problems
- Must have a current DoD approved 8570 Level II certification such as Security+ CE.
- Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Requirements
- Have a strong understanding of troubleshooting approaches and root cause analysis
- Have experience with security patching and software management using WSU
- Have experience with NetApp NAS storage
- Have a working knowledge of PowerShell scripting
- Have a strong understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Have knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems and MDIOC operations
- Have a degree in an IT or Engineering related discipline
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.
Other Position Requirements:
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Must be able to travel, including air travel.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
