This position is Extended Part-time with a schedule requirement of 32 hours per week.
The City of Irvine seeks a passionate and motivated individual for the Extended Part-Time Public Safety Assistant - Records position. Specifically, this position performs a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment to support the department and the community. The division is responsible for maintaining the department's confidential records and ensuring proper policies are followed when handling and distributing information. The primary duties of this position include:
- Data entry.
- Researching and validating information within reports.
- Processing requests for police reports.
- Disseminating records of a sensitive nature.
All applicants must be able to pass the Public Safety background check process.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement or related field with at least one year experience in law enforcement activities, community service, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Requires a valid California drivers' license.
- Depending on assignment, may be required to obtain certification in first aid and CPR.

The Process
The selection process will include an interview and will involve a background investigation prior to appointment. All applicants must be able to pass the Public Safety background check process .This includes, but is not limited to, the review of: legal documents, police and driving records, credit profile, motor vehicle insurance, vehicle operation, prior employment records, and performance reviews.
