Function/Duties of Position:The Clinical Support Assistant (CSA) position is a 11 -month part -time, paid position that includes clinical support responsibilities, as well as informal educational experiences.
The CSA supports multiple work units within the School of Dentistry patient care clinics based upon clinical needs. The position includes interaction with dental care providers, dental students, patient support staff, clinic managers, and patients. The position performs a variety of clinical support and office functions, as assigned.
Primary work duties include escorting patients to and from the waiting room to the clinical dental operatory, preparation and disinfection of operatories for dental procedures using basic infection control techniques, routine equipment maintenance, and inventory stocking and tracking. The work is performed in a HIPAA compliant environment where confidentiality and discretion are required. The position requires flexibility and willingness to work in multiple patient care areas.

Required Qualifications:- High School Diploma or equivalent, AND
- One year of experience with high volume contact with the public; OR
- 6 months of medical office experience, with high volume contact with patients
- BLS Certificate within 6 months of hire issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Basic computer skills
- Customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented with organizational skills
- Communication skills, written and verbal
- Receptiveness to feedback and coaching
- Demonstrable record of reliable attendance, punctuality, and proven successful performance at past and present employers
- Ability to work both with a team and independently
- Ability to successfully learn through an online learning format
- Work location is School of Dentistry clinics
- Hours per week is 20 hours
- Hours vary from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm M-F only
- Exposure to blood and/or saliva
- A surgical face mask must be worn as directed
- The work environment is busy and fast paced
- There are multiple demands and people interactions with interruptions
