Wage Range: $21.50 $27.37 hourly; depending on number of years of transferrable experience and internal equity

Job Summary:

The RiverStone Health Maintenance Tech is responsible for the maintenance and remodeling of RiverStone Health facilities and grounds. Maybe asked to perform minor boiler and air conditioning maintenance, assure adherence to state statues and rules, CHAP standards, and federal regulations including HIPPA and 42 CFR Part 2. This incumbent must positively represent the organization and promotes RiverStone Health to the community.

Essential Functions/Major Duties and Responsibilities:

A.   Facilities and grounds maintenance                                                              95%

  • Update and complete all work orders as assigned by Facilities Manager.
  • Maintenance of all off-site facilities including routine maintenance, upkeep and repair.
  • General carpentry and remodeling; including reading blueprints, framing, plumbing, sheetrock, mudding and taping, and painting.
  • Responsible for maintaining parking and ground’s areas to include communicating and maintaining relationships with contracted services.
  • Sitting at a workstation to process work orders, phone calls, and e-mail communications.
  • Actively participate in supporting the goals, objectives and other organizational initiatives of the department or program.
  • Responsible for cleaning and maintaining boiler room and all storage areas of the facilities.
  • Perform snow removal of all parking lots and sidewalks as needed.
  • Complete landscaping projects to include planting and removing plants and trees, installing landscaping cloth and ground covering such as bark or rocks, sprinkler system repairs, and any other projects assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform scheduled fire drills as assigned by Facilities Manager.
  • Attend staff and educational meetings.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Facilities Manager.
  • Assist with emergency response procedures as needed

Education and Experience:  

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • 3+ health care facilities maintenance required.

  • Experience diagnosing mechanical problems, perform troubleshooting, and repair various power and hand tools.

  • Proficient in routine and emergency maintenance calls.

  • Experience in inspection of air conditioners, refrigerator speed, cleaning, temperature, and lubrication.

  • Experience reading system schematics and blueprints of systems and equipment, such as cooling and plumbing systems.

  • Any combination of experience and training which provide the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HVAC Certification

  • Low Pressure Boilers License

  • Experience working with underserved populations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Montana low pressure boiler license preferred, may obtain on the job.

  • Valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:  

  • Required to travel 25% or less to different RiverStone Health locations in the area including rural satellite clinics, School-Based Clinics, Healthcare for the Homeless Clinics, and Hospice House.

  • Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, other vehicles, etc. Travel occurs in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.

  • Work will be performed indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions.

  • Ability to work in hot, cold, and tight environments required.

  • Standing, bending, stooping, sitting, lifting, crawling, kneeling required.

  • Ability to climb and use ladders safely.

  • Regularly lift and drag heavy appliances, furniture, machinery, etc. up to 75 lbs. unassisted and up to 150 lbs. with assistance.

  • Work in outreach settings including community events, indoor and outdoor.

Communications & Networking:

  • Work directly with other team members and staff to provide quality customer service for patients, staff, and customers.
