Structural Engineer CL 5 (Multiple Positions) (Stantec Consulting Services Inc.; Austin, TX): Perform structural engineering design tasks including engineering drawings, engineering reports, presentations, and required applications to regulatory and funding agencies. Develop designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats, and prepare and revise documentation in various structural phases including site plans, cross sections, diagrams, submittal reviews and response to information requests. Assist senior engineers with developing project scope including cost estimates, budget, staffing and schedule. Participate in the permit process, including meetings with clients, contractors, reviewing agency personnel and governing entities. Prepare portions of engineering project proposals, change orders, and client communications. Prepare structural engineering feasibility studies by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data. Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation anticipate future legislation, enforce adherence to requirements, and advise management on needed actions. Confirm adherence to construction specifications during each phase of a project. Monitor project progress, inspect construction sites, and verify calculations and placements. Act as engineer of record on own work product. 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.). #LI-DNI #GTM
Qualifications
Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience; OR a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: Multi-story concrete framing design; Steel framing design including composite floor framing; Foundation types and design; Industry standard design software including Tekla Structural Designer, RISA-3D, StructurePoint Suite, Enercalc, LPile, and Tedds; and Revit modeling software.
Must have an active U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week, depending on business need.
