We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Intermediate Municipal Engineer to join our team, with a focus on road design and municipal infrastructure projects. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of urban and rural construction and reconstruction projects, including roads, watermains, and storm and sanitary sewer systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide design support for urban and rural road construction and reconstruction projects, including local and regional roads.
- Contribute to the design of watermains, stormwater management systems, and sanitary sewers.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination between various aspects of design and construction. This includes working with environmental, structural, and other engineering disciplines.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents, technical specifications, and support in the construction phases of projects.
- Participate in environmental assessments and regulatory compliance processes as they relate to road and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure that designs meet required codes, standards, and regulations, while also adhering to project timelines and budgets.
- Utilize Civil3D and/or InRoads/OpenRoads to prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, and reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in road design, with a strong focus on both urban and rural road construction and reconstruction projects.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
- Experience in the design of watermains, stormwater systems, and sanitary sewers is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams and construction projects from concept to completion.
- Proficiency with design software such as Civil3D, and/or InRoads/OpenRoads.
- Familiarity with relevant municipal engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Effective communication skills for working with internal teams, clients, and regulatory authorities.
The expected salary for this position is between $90, 000 -110, 000 and based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
