Member of a two person corporate reporting team within Resource Planning. Primarily responsible to maintain and troubleshoot a complex network of MS Access and MS Excel tools that provide cost and schedule information to Operations. This position provides on-site, ad hoc support for Operations’ data requests. Operating under the BIW Business Operating System (BOS), the Senior Planner, Resource Planning ensures compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards while coordinating with other key stakeholders to meet overall milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Leadership:
- Participate in initiatives to enhance workplace safety and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Project Execution:
- Maintain and troubleshoot a complex network of MS Access and MS Excel tools that provide cost and schedule information to Operations.
- Training and Development:
- Ensure subject matter expertise can be passed onto the rest of the corporate reporting team, especially when you are the most senior member of the two person team.
- Team Collaboration and Communication:
- Develop relationship with management in Operations to guide them toward the useful tools that have been created for them.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and report systemic quality issues that can be evaluated and correction implementation by departmental process improvement initiatives.
- Support execution of the Operational Performance Improvement Plan for the Fabrication, Support and Resource Planning Department.
- Work with assigned Operations leadership in support of their Operational Performance Improvement Plans.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT or related technical field of study required.
- Certificates for VBA, MS Access, and MS Excel are preferred
- Two years of experience with MS Access and MS Excel in a business environment required.
- Good project management skills, including prioritizing of multiple tasks and deliverables.
- Ability and drive to work independently and within a dynamic team environment.
- Ability to build strong relationships across the BIW organization is critical.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Highly motivated person with proven analytical skills.
- Adept at prioritizing and managing deadlines.
