The Job

At evo, we believe our people are the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for a People Business Partner to join our team and play a key role in building a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.

This role is heavily focused on hands-on generalist work, with some strategic partnership. You’ll primarily support our retail stores, distribution center, and customer care teams across the U.S. and Canada, while also providing occasional support to our corporate teams.

Since evo doesn’t have a traditional HR structure with Centers of Excellence, this role owns the full suite of HR functions—from writing job descriptions and leading employee relations to compliance, talent development, and workforce planning. If you’re a true generalist who loves variety and thrives in a roll-up-your-sleeves environment, this is the role for you.

 The Perks

  • 100% paid health dental and vision*
  • Paid vacation time*, sick leave, 40 hours volunteer paid time off
  • Paid parental leave for birthing & non birthing parents
  • Retail quarterly bonus program, profit share program* and long-term compensation program
  • 401k matching
  • Employee discount and access to pro deals on most the products we sell
  • NGEY (New Gear Every Year): a new ski or snowboard setup to use for the season*
  • Bike finance program and bike stipend
  • Time together outside, volunteer activities, community events, ride days and annual retreat
  • Flexible work schedules, remote work for eligible roles, and dog friendly offices
  • Career pathing, leadership development, network development, training and performance feedback

Note: Availability of the benefits and perks may be subject to your location, tenure and employment type. The Company reserves the right to alter these benefits and perks in whole or in part at any time.

  • Be the go-to partner for managers and team members across retail, distribution, and customer care.
  • Assist in writing and updating job descriptions to ensure they accurately reflect our values and business needs.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers on recruiting efforts—support job postings, interview planning, and candidate selection.
  • Lead employee relations efforts, including coaching conversations, conflict resolution, and investigations, always with empathy and fairness.
  • Make sure we’re staying compliant with federal, state, provincial, and local employment laws in both the U.S. and Canada.
  • Guide managers and team members through the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, career development, and offboarding.
  • Manage HR data and processes, keeping systems accurate, current, and compliant.
  • Provide hands-on support for policy creation, updates, and communication.

Strategic Partnership & Culture Building (20%)

  • Build trusted relationships with leaders to understand their team dynamics and provide proactive solutions to people challenges.
  • Partner with managers on workforce planning, retention strategies, and team development initiatives.
  • Identify trends in engagement, turnover, and performance and recommend practical, data-driven actions.
  • Help foster evo’s culture of authenticity, invitation, and growth, ensuring our values are lived every day.
  • Support company-wide projects that improve the employee experience and strengthen organizational effectiveness.
