The Vice President of Retail & Merchandising is responsible for setting the vision and strategy for Gold’s Gym’s retail and merchandising business. This role oversees all aspects of retail operations, merchandising strategy, and product development to ensure a seamless, profitable and brand-consistent customer experience across all channels.
The Vice President will lead a team and be responsible for setting goals/KPIs, utilizing insights to anticipate customer needs and best deliver results against business objectives. This position will contribute to long-term business growth and brand position while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability and excellence.
Retail Strategy & Operations
· Develop and execute the company’s retail strategy to maximize sales and profitability across brick-and-mortar gyms, as well as digital platforms.
· Improve operational standards that bring about best-in-class customer experiences.
· Oversee growth and expansion in the retail space including new books of business in alignment with brand and financial objectives.
Merchandising & Product
· Lead the merchandising strategy, including assortment planning, product lifecycle management, pricing and inventory optimization.
· Create and drive overall merchandising and category strategies to meet company goals and objectives.
· Develop ongoing working relationships with distribution partners and maximize revenue and profitability.
· Collaborate with marketing, finance and other departments to deliver a unified brand and customer experience.
Licensing & Brand Partnerships
· Develop and manage the company licensing strategy to extend the brand into new product categories and locations.
· Identify and manage licensing agreements, holding partners accountable to brand standards, driving financial results.
· Build strong relationships with licensees and strategic partners to drive mutual growth.
· Monitor licensed product performance and market trends, adjusting strategy to capture new opportunities.
Financial & Performance Management
· Own the retail and merchandising P&L, driving revenue and managing costs.
· Use data and analytics to measure performance, identify trends and guide strategy.
