Position Summary

This is a skilled position with a primary responsibility to Dispatch Ready Mix Drivers, you must also fulfill the duties of a Customer Service Representative.

Position is located in Lubbock, TX

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Dispatch and control the number of drivers needed throughout the day and make any necessary adjustments to maintain the goals set by the company.
  • Have a pleasant and accommodating voice over the phone and always demonstrate a positive and professional attitude especially with unruly customers.
  • Develop a positive rapport with Ready Mix Drivers, Team members, and the Customer.
  • Solve problems in a timely manner while fostering lasting business relationship with our customer.
  • Must be familiar with our local delivery areas and must be able to assist drivers in finding jobsites.
  • Must be able to determine travel time to jobs and best plant locations to service the job.
  • Able and willing to work overtime and varying shifts including early mornings, late afternoons, and Saturdays.
  • Record accurate delivery and product information on orders, negotiates delivery times with Customers. Attention to Detail is imperative
  • Must be able to perform in high call volume situations while multitasking with plants, drivers on track it radios, team members in the office while setting for long periods of time.

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

 

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Proficient in Spanish (read, write, and speak)
  • Prior experience (1-3 yrs) with Command Series order entry, tracking and scheduling is a plus.
  • Ability to read and write short correspondences, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Computer skills; to perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software (Command Alkon); Internet software; Order processing systems; Global positioning system software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate clearly on telephone
  • Must be able to use office equipment including PC, adding machine, fax machine, printers, etc. for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Must be able to walk on uneven and / or slippery ground.
  • Must be able to work up to 12 hours per day for extended periods.
