The Manager, Network Partnerships is part of the Commercial Division. You’ll lead a high-impact team focused on maximizing the value of American’s cobrand network agreements. You’ll play a key role in shaping how American Airlines leverages its network partnerships to deliver customer and business value.

What you'll do

  • Lead the team responsible for managing and optimizing the Mastercard Network partnership, ensuring delivery of contractual value and strategic alignment.
  • Oversee planning, resource allocation, and execution of cross-functional initiatives tied to the Mastercard relationship.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and dedicated Mastercard teams, prioritizing analytical and operational requests.
  • Identify new opportunities to drive incremental value through the Mastercard partnership.
  • Collaborate with finance, marketing, loyalty, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of partnership initiatives.
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
  • Support the Director, Planning and Execution in strategic planning and partner engagement.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in partnership management, strategic planning, or commercial operations.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex external relationships.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Preferred Qualifications – Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Experience in the airline, payments, or financial services industries.
  • Familiarity with network partnerships, loyalty programs, or cobrand credit card structures.
  • MBA or advanced degree in a related discipline.
  • Experience working with Mastercard or similar global payment networks.

Skills, Licenses, and Certifications

  • Strategic problem-solver with the ability to deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of commercial partnerships and value creation strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and build consensus across diverse teams.
  • Strong relationship management skills with experience working with financial institutions and internal stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and influence skills across all organizational levels.
  • Data-driven decision-maker with experience optimizing performance and resource allocation.
  • Adaptable leader who fosters team development and continuous improvement.
