Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - UI Health Care Bettendorf Outreach Clinic 100%
The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a patient centered 100% (40 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our Outreach patients within Bettendorf. This position supports our other clinics located within the building which includes but not limited to: Pediatrics, Dermatology, and Endocrinology. This position requires travel within a two-hour radius approximately once per month and includes the use of a fleet vehicle, along with paid drive time.

Our LPN's develop relationships and get to know our patients and monitor patient care history and deliver personalized, compassionate care every time to each patient. When our patients need care, our providers connect them with the UI Health Care specialist they need.

Duties to include:
- Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
- Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
- In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.

Percent of Time: 100% (40 hours per week)
Schedule: Variable hours accomplished between Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM; no weekends, no on-call and no holidays.
Location: Bettendorf, IA (and surround clinics/locations based on clinic needs)
Pay Grade: 11
Salary: $44,557.92 - $66,377.52 (based on years of experience)
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support provider.
Special Qualifications/Licenses:
- Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
- Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical need/hours.
Highly Desirable Qualifications
- The ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments and patient populations is highly desired.
- Minimum one year experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse/LPN.
Desirable Qualifications
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Previous healthcare support experience, 1-3 years in healthcare setting in Pediatrics
- Demonstrated experience fostering a welcoming and respectful work/academic environment.
- Computer skills and ability to navigate the EMR - Epic, Word.
