Position and Responsibilities
Cameco Fuel Manufacturing is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Control Analyst for a 12-18 month position joining the Logistics team in Cobourg. The successful candidate will play a key role in material requirements planning (MRP), ensure accurate tracking and documentation of material shipments against applicable licenses. This position will also require expertise in transportation of dangerous goods, the preparation of shipping documents, and the management of both importing and exporting processes to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP):
- Analyse and plan material requirements based on production schedules, forecasts, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with procurement, supply chain and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and trigger reordering actions when necessary to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
- Shipping and License Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of volumes shipped in alignment with licenses and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure shipments are in compliance with license conditions, including limits on quantities and product specifications.
- Track and update shipping records, ensuring consistency between planned and actual shipments.
- Generate and verify the accuracy of shipping documents, including packing lists, bills of lading, and dangerous goods declarations.
- Ensure all necessary documentation is complete, accurate, and in compliance with international, federal, and local regulations.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG):
- Ensure proper handling, storage and documentation of materials classified as dangerous goods, adhering to all relevant regulations (IATA, IMDG, etc,).
- Review and verify that shipments of dangerous goods are compliant with safety standards, including labelling, packaging and shipping documentation.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on material usage, inventory levels, and shipping activities.
- Create and maintain accurate records for auditing purposes, ensuring full compliance with internal, legal and regulatory standards.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
- Diploma in Logistics, Operations or Supply Chain Management
- 2+ years’ experience in Materials and Inventory management processes and advanced technical knowledge of computerised MRP systems (preferably SAP).
Assets:
- Understanding of transportation and logistics functions including Import/Export Regulations.
- Certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) road, sea & air; or designation as a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP).
- Lift truck certification
