There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes to keep H-E-B Stores stocked and ready to serve customers. Our Warehousing and Transportation divisions support each of our retail locations, vital components of our overall Supply Chain Team, who innovate and execute to optimize source-to-shelf operations.
As a Supply Chain Clerk, you'll perform general Warehouse or Transportation Operations duties that may include stock control, shipping / receiving, and inventory management responsibilities.

What is the work?
Performs the following general tasks in addition to specific role duties (see below)
Supply Chain [Warehouse / Transportation] Operations:
- Takes appropriate actions to address safety issues within the facility
- Takes actions to ensure work environment is clean and well-maintained
- Strives to meet individual workflow goals, team goals and facility workflow goals where applicable; always strives to provide superior customer service
- Completes work assignments in a timely manner; uses time in an efficient and productive manner in support of facility goals
- Takes a proactive approach to assist fellow Partners through their own actions, such as sharing of information about technical matters, facility-specific knowledge, processes, and procedures
- Takes action to help assimilate fellow Partners into the work environment as opportunities present themselves
- Maintains accountability for own work schedule and work hours; identifies opportunities for efficiency in day-to-day workflow; makes recommendations to appropriate leadership team member
- Ensures product / workflow is efficient and timely
- Ensures SOPs are followed to reduce product damage and equipment damage
- May be cross trained in multiple clerk job functions
- Performs other assigned duties
Warehouse Clerk
Warehouse Operations:
- Performs Distribution Partner II responsibilities as business needs dictate
- Accurately completes assignments and resolves issues related to accuracy
Equipment Clerk
Inventory Management / Maintenance / Auditing:
- Maintains equipment room, RF and MHE equipment, equipment areas, keys (inventories, inspects, cleans, organizes, files, recharges batteries, etc.)
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories (e.g., ring scanners, wearable pouches, printers, labels)
- Audits all materials handling equipment (MHE) for location accuracy, cleanliness, serviceability, safety checks, and compliance with Operator's daily checklist
- Submits maintenance tickets and monitors status of repairs; escalates as appropriate to leadership
Inventory Clerk
Inventory Management:
- Counts product; reviews inventory levels
Receiving Clerk
Receiving:
- Verifies Product ID (UPC, pack size, description) and quantity against purchase order
Shipping Clerk
Shipping:
- Monitors loading activity
- Verifies completed orders are loaded as planned
- Works with Load Planning department to modify store deliveries
- Performs workload planning
Stock Control Clerk
Stocking:
- Performs item and slot maintenance to ensure products are accurately stored and shipped
- Ensures warehouse inventory is accurate and stores are properly invoiced
- Monitors and evaluates status of Forklift Operators, Stockers, and Order Selectors
Automated Facility Clerk
- Performs Distribution Partner II responsibilities as business needs dictate
Inventory:
- Counts product; reviews inventory levels
- Coordinates issues related to inventory integrity / product movement within the facility
- Completes inventory verification and monitoring / tracking processes (e.g., cycle counting)
- Ensures all items are assigned correct item attributes
Window:
- Coordinates inbound trailers to correct dock door
- Reviews purchase orders daily; prints paperwork for receiving
- Works with Partners on the floor to reconcile any ASN or PO discrepancies
- Ensures that operational benchmarks (e.g., on-time releases, receiving) are on track daily
Shipping:
- Performs item and slot maintenance to ensure products are accurately stored and shipped
- Ensures warehouse inventory is accurate and stores are properly invoiced
- Monitors and evaluates status of outbound orders
- Performs workload planning
- Verifies completed orders are loaded as planned
- Monitors loading and departure activity
- Works with Load Planning department to modify store deliveries
- Attends to phone lines; assists Route Drivers with issues during delivery process (e.g., vehicle breakdowns, scheduling issues)
- Tracks / updates / enters data on Driver manifests and completed deliveries / paperwork
- Escalates issues when resources do not meet business needs or demands
- Works with Master Data technician to ensure all product attributes all correct
Transportation Clerk
Transportation Operations / Inventory Management:
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supply inventories (e.g., bale wire, printers, labels, cleaning supplies)
- Submits maintenance tickets; monitors repair status; escalates as appropriate to leadership
- Counts product; reviews inventory levels (e.g., tobacco, recalls, snack boxes)
- Creates bills of lading (BOL) in support of the business (e.g., tobacco, recalls, food banks)
- Communicates with vendors to coordinate shipping of product as necessary
What is your background?
- High school diploma or equivalent
Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Supply Chain Clerk?
- Intermediate knowledge of H-E-B in-house systems
- Math skills (+, -, *, /); reading and writing skills
- Organization skills; attention to detail
- Computer skills, including MS Office
- Bi-lingual language skills a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work in a team-based environment
- Ability to operate machines or equipment in a safe, independent manner
Can you...
- Work in either a hot or extreme cold environment for an entire shift
- Stand, walk, squat for extended periods
