Job Description:

ALTEN UK is seeking a Supplier Quality Manager to join our team, supporting critical aerospace programmes working on gas turbines.

This role will focus on developing, supporting, and assuring suppliers to achieve and maintain aerospace process and digital minimum standards, ensuring high-quality and right-first-time delivery of complex engine components.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Development & Coaching

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to suppliers on quality systems, process controls, and digital compliance.
  • Drive adoption of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and MSA.
  • Support suppliers in deploying digital tools (inspection data capture, traceability, PPAP portals).

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Audit suppliers against AS9100, NADCAP, ISO 17025 and customer requirements.
  • Ensure processes meet regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Support supplier FAIR submissions and compliance deliverables.

Performance Management

  • Track and report supplier KPIs (OTD, RFT, concession rates, escapes).
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Support Zero Defects initiatives and continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with engineering, procurement, and programme teams to resolve supplier issues.
  • Lead supplier workshops and training sessions.
  • Act as SME for process maturity, digitalisation, and quality system excellence.
Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Experience in supplier quality management within aerospace or other precision, regulated industries.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100, APQP/PPAP, FAIRs and aerospace compliance.
  • Experience coaching suppliers to meet process and digital standards.
  • Skilled in auditing, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of digital quality tools and supplier portals.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt or above.
  • Experience managing global suppliers in complex supply chains.
  • Understanding of special processes (e.g., heat treatment, coatings, NDT, machining).
