POSITIONSUMMARY:
The Technology Consultant serves as a strategic advisor and technologyliaison for the Duquesne University community, including faculty, staff, andstudents. This role is responsible for providing expert consultation,conducting market research, and developing tailored technology solutions thatsupport academic and administrative initiatives. The Technology Consultantexercises independent judgment in recommending products and assists in theprocurement processes. This position requires a high level of technicalknowledge, customer engagement, and contributing directly to the strategicgoals of the Technology Sales at the TechHub.
DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides expert consultation to university stakeholders on technologysolutions, including hardware, software, and peripherals.
Perform researchon vendor offerings and collaborate with technology partners to identifyoptimal pricing, value, and procurement strategies.
Develops andpresents formal quotes and proposals tailored to departmental and individualneeds.
Analyzesinventory trends and assist in strategic purchasing decisions to optimize storeperformance.
Oversees thecoordination of product deliveries, special orders, and repair services,ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
Manages technology and catalog for internal and external customers on ecommercesites, such as Unimarket and Cashnet.
Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in technology, business, sales or a related field from anaccredited institution.
Minimum of 2 years of professionalexperience in retail, technology consulting, or customer service.
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in retail, technology consulting,or customer service.
Preferredqualifications:
Experience working in higher education.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following:
Strong organizational skills, attentionto detail, and ability to prioritize effectively.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects withminimal supervision.

Excellent writtenand verbal communication skills.
Ability tounderstand technical requirements and communicate recommendations tonon-technical audiences.
Flexibility towork evenings and weekends during peak University events (e.g., studentmove-in, orientations).
Experience withITSM tools and remote support technologies
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with theUniversity Community.
