Description

Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) – Full-Time

Episcopal Homes of Minnesota has proudly served seniors for 130 years in St. Paul’s Midway neighborhood. Our vibrant campus offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Home Care services. Residents enjoy access to amenities including a fitness center, pool, pub, theater, and gourmet dining.

We are currently seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our Therapy team and support residents in achieving greater independence and well-being through personalized therapy services.

Wage: $25.39-32.94/hr. DOE
Schedule: Full-Time 

What You’ll Do

  • Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans to help residents improve strength, mobility, coordination, and daily function
  • Guide residents through therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions
  • Provide adaptive equipment training to residents, caregivers, and families
  • Monitor and document resident progress, reporting changes to the OT
  • Educate residents and families on techniques to maintain or improve function at home
  • Collaborate with therapy, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive care
  • Participate in care conferences and assist in discharge planning
  • Support the integration of therapy into residents’ daily routines
  • Ensure therapy interventions follow state and federal regulations, emphasizing safety and infection control
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system
  • Assist with therapy-related administrative tasks such as supply management and scheduling

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Licensed and certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Minnesota
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams

Preferred:

  • Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or senior living
  • Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive technology
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Assist residents with transfers and mobility exercises
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
  • Ability to work in varied positions (stooping, crouching, reaching)
