Position Summary

Tidal Basin Group is a nationally recognized emergency management and consulting firm. We are expanding our Debris Services team and seeking dedicated Debris Monitors to support disaster recovery operations. This role is responsible for onsite monitoring of debris removal activities to ensure compliance with FEMA, state, and local requirements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor debris loading and hauling operations in assigned work zones.
  • Verify that contractors collect only eligible debris from public rights-of-way in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Accurately complete load tickets, logs, and related documentation to support FEMA reimbursement.
  • Ensure safe and compliant loading practices, including proper truck capacity and debris securement.
  • Report safety hazards, damages, or non-compliant activities to supervisors in a timely manner.
  • Maintain professional conduct when interacting with residents, contractors, and local officials.
  • Assist with mapping debris collection progress and identifying special debris (white goods,
  • Complete all required training as directed.

Required Skills and Competencies

The candidate should possess the following:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in difficult conditions (extreme temperatures, inclement weather, humidity, disaster-affected areas) for extended hours.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures, protocols and work instructions at all times.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen, motor vehicle records check, and background check.
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Proof of auto insurance (Valid Insurance Card)
  • A reliable and dependable vehicle for following trucks
  • A cellular phone with a charger

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous debris monitoring or disaster response experience preferred.

Work Location/Schedule

  • Current work location is Globe, AZ
  • Extended hours required during disaster response, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Typical shifts may range from 12–14 hours per day, 7 days a week, during active operations.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • General Physical Activities - include sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands and fingers.
  • Ability to safely drive and work in areas impacted by disasters.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and challenging environments.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
