Position Summary

Tidal Basin Group, a nationally recognized emergency management and consulting firm, is seeking experienced Debris Field Supervisors to lead and oversee debris monitoring operations during disaster recovery missions. This role provides direct supervision of debris monitoring staff in the field, ensuring safety, accuracy, and compliance with FEMA and client requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support a high-performing team in challenging environments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide daily supervision and quality assurance for debris monitoring field operations.
  • Conduct field visits throughout the day to review monitor performance, provide guidance, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Verify that debris removal activities are conducted safely, within jurisdictional boundaries, and limited to eligible debris.
  • Support monitors with documentation processes, including electronic load tickets, logs, and FEMA 214 Daily Activity Logs.
  • Assist with training, onboarding, and remediation of monitoring staff as needed.
  • Enforce project directives and communicate operational updates from management.
  • Maintain project tools, equipment, and administrative paperwork.
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols, including participation in daily safety meetings.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for field issues or conflicts, resolving them respectfully and professionally.
  • Complete all required training as directed.

Required Skills and Competencies

The candidate should possess the following:

  • Familiarity with FEMA’s Public Assistance (PA) program and debris removal eligibility guidelines.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to mentor and motivate staff.
  • Basic proficiency with Windows-based laptops, tablets, and troubleshooting common issues.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to safety, professionalism, and client service.
  • Ability to work extended hours in disaster-affected environments, including nights, weekends, and long shifts (12–18 hours per day, up to 100+ hours per week, during response).
  • Valid state driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Possession of a cell phone with vehicle charger.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen, motor vehicle review, and background check.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior debris monitoring experience required.
  • Previous experience as a Debris Field Supervisor strongly preferred.
  • Experience with operations, data management, or administrative support in a disaster recovery environment preferred.

Work Location/Schedule

  • Current work location is Globe, AZ
  • Extended hours required during disaster response, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Typical shifts may range from 12–14 hours per day, 7 days a week, during active operations.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • General Physical Activities - include sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands and fingers.
  • Ability to safely drive and work in areas impacted by disasters.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and challenging environments.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
