Description
This Staff Accountant position offers an ambitious finance professional the chance to join a dynamic business with high visibility and growth ambitions. As part of a fast paced, global team supporting a public company, we are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Company's accounting activities. You will be responsible for key accounting processes across multiple entities within the group, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and robust internal controls. - Maintain daily accounting activities in Oracle Fusion, including posting journals, bank entries, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
- Perform bank reconciliations across UK and international entities.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Support tax-related processes, including VAT and PSA reconciliations.
- Update budget and revenue trackers to provide accurate reporting to department heads and FP&A.
- Prepare reconciliations for balance sheet accounts across multiple companies, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Support the month-end close process to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Assist with the preparation of schedules for internal and external reporting.
- Work closely with Senior Accountants, Finance Managers, and FP&A to provide revenue and cost insights and analysis.
- Raise and issue invoices, apply payments, and reconcile balances.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and send reminders to support timely collections.
- Provide regular updates on AR status, collections progress, and risks.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the accounting team.
- Provide support for audits, group reporting, and ad hoc finance projects.
- Minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent).
- Currently working towards ACCA, CIMA, or ACA (early stage exam progress welcome).
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar accounting role.
- Strong technical understanding of accounting fundamentals such as reconciliations, accruals, and revenue recognition.
- Good Excel skills; experience with Oracle Fusion and/or Tableau is desirable but not essential.
- High attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills.
- Able to demonstrate problem-solving and able to identify issues and put forward solutions.
- Confident communicator, able to collaborate with colleagues across finance and business teams.
- Proactive, motivated, and eager to learn.
