Duties:
- Assist with decommissioning the Jarvi Lab.
- Other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution in a science-related field.
- Four (4) years progressive experience working in a laboratory setting.
- Evidence of a working knowledge of microscopy, manipulation and visualization of nematodes, troubleshooting, and experimental design.
- Working knowledge of the equipment required to conduct these studies.
- At least one (1) year of working experience with procurement procedures.
- Experience supervising student research in the laboratory.
- Demonstrated ability to write scientific manuscripts.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of rat lungworm disease caused by Angiostrongylus cantonensis, its life cycle, and means of transmission.
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a science-related field.
- At least two (2) years experience in a laboratory setting
- At least one (1) year of experience in the recruitment and supervision of interns and students.
- Understanding molecular biology techniques
- Ability to conduct molecular techniques including real-time PCR, microscopy, manipulation and visualization of nematodes.
- Ability to summarize data in preparation for scientific manuscripts.
