REPORTS TO: Head of School or Designee

QUALIFICATIONS:
Meet the licensure and certification requirements of the Delaware Department of Education for an elementary education teacher. Special Education certification is a plus.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college.
Minimum of 2 years experience in the field of education.
Must demonstrate a firm knowledge of education laws and regulations.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITY:
Effectively teach core subjects (ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science).
Effectively collaborate with staff, students, and parents/guardians.
Excellent communication, organization, and relationship building skills.
Execute the day-to-day operations of the classroom, including: engaging differentiated instruction, lesson planning, conducting student assessments, classroom management, and parent/guardian communication.
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
Assess academic accomplishments and areas of concern for students on a regular basis and provide reports as required.
Work with the special education coordinator to provide an appropriate setting and level of instruction for students with additional needs to include an Individual Education Plans (IEP).
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by laws and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
