Base Compensation Range: $20/hr - $22/hr plus 10% differential for swing shift

This position is eligible for an annual 10% bonus opportunity in addition to the base salary

Job Summary

A Quality Control Specialist I is responsible for ensuring that manufactured products meet quality standards and specifications. They play a critical role in maintaining high levels of precision and accuracy in the production process.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections on manufactured parts, components, or finished products to ensure they meet predetermined specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
  • Utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), to accurately measure and verify dimensions, tolerances, and other critical features.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting non-conformities, deviations, and discrepancies from specifications. Communicate findings to appropriate personnel and collaborate on implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001). Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the development and implementation of quality control procedures.
  • Work closely with production personnel, engineers, machine shop and quality assurance teams to resolve quality-related problems, provide guidance on quality standards, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements, inspection techniques, and emerging technologies. Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues to enhance overall inspection capabilities.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by management

Experience/Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years related experience; technical or vocational certifications in precision inspection or quality assurance are advantageous. (OR Associates Degree with a minimum of 3 years related experience)
  • Proven experience as a precision inspector or a related quality control role.

Knowledge and Skillsets Required

  • Strong knowledge of precision measurement instruments and their usage.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and quality assurance practices.
  • Understanding of technical drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Proficient in using computerized inspection tools and software applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills to convey inspection results and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Understanding of industry-specific regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
  • Experience in Metrology
