The Field Specialist role at Weatherford is a multi-tiered position that applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks for various products and services in the oil and gas industry. The position ranges from entry-level specialists who receive direct supervision to senior specialists who troubleshoot complex technical issues, provide directions to junior team members, and serve as the key interface with clients at well sites.

- Maintain equipment and work areas in safe, presentable condition
- Monitor and analyze data to recommend services and solutions
- Perform job planning, tool preparation, mobilization, and execution
- Submit all job-related documentation within acceptable timeframes
- Remain available on a 24-hour call basis for customer needs
- Test, operate, and maintain tools according to procedures
- Develop positive client relationships
- Manage inventory and supplies at well sites
- Follow up on equipment failures and participate in Root Cause Analysis
- Overseeing and mentoring junior team members
- Acting as technical advisors to management
- Interpreting data for client representatives
- Performing engineering checks on location
- Managing installation of complex equipment and services
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders
- Clearly communicate expectations and responsibilities (for supervisory roles)
- Demonstrate financial accountability
- Ensure costs remain within approved budgets
- Follow relevant financial policies and procedures
Qualifications
- 2 - 4 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- High School Diploma
- Technical Certificate from an accredited Technical/Vocational School
- Understanding of mechanics, electricity, electronics, pneumatics, and/or hydraulics
- Mathematics and basic physics/chemistry knowledge
- Computer fundamentals
- Critical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities
- Strong reading, writing, and decision-making skills
- Time management and quality control analysis
- Service orientation
- Physical capability to perform required tasks
- Ability to operate tools and machinery effectively
- Mathematical reasoning
Travel Requirements
This position may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to 50-75% of the time.
