AT Media’s Editorial Special Projects team is looking for a part-time Senior Editor, Cubby to join our dynamic team. We’re seeking an experienced and passionate editor who, under the direction of the Editor-in-Chief of Cubby, will serve as the day-to-day editor of Cubby, playing a crucial role in driving toward the brand’s goals and growth. This person should have direct experience in lifestyle editorial, ideally in family content. An ideal candidate has strong editorial judgment, ability to juggle multiple priorities, and passion for the home and food space, including as it relates to family life.
This is a part-time role with a commitment of 20 hours per week working either remotely or from our NYC office.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief to develop the voice and strategy of the editorial
- Support Cubby’s traffic and post goals, working with the Cubby team to identify trends, ideate new formats, and continue to grow overall site traffic
- Manage, along with the Editor-in-Chief, Cubby’s editorial calendar
- Develop and oversee Cubby’s short-lead post strategy, pitching, editing, writing, and assigning to themselves and other contributors
- Identify, grow, and foster a diverse network of freelance contributors
- Own the story pipeline, from pitch to publish, clearly setting, communicating, and delivering on deadlines and expectations
- Work across departments (namely our SEO, Creative, Growth, Shopping, and Edit Ops teams), to support our overall site and company growth goals
- Collaborate with the Editorial Special Projects team and other editorial staff to identify and launch new special project and tentpole opportunities, and to define the scope of and execute existing projects
- Represent Cubby in-person and online at studio shoots and external events, as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 4-6 years of media experience, with a focus on editing and managing day-to-day content
- A strong digital sensibility for both a quick-turn news story, longer-term feature, and larger package planning
- Subject-matter experience with home, food, and family
- A robust roster of freelance writers
- Experience in editing stories for accuracy, service, voice, and style
- Experience in best practices and strategy in affiliate commerce revenue
- Expertise in traffic analytics, social metrics, and SEO best practices, with strong skills in evaluating editorial efforts against effectiveness and adjust as needed
- Ability to balance multiple priorities, and adjust strategy and execution in the face of new information
Compensation/Commitment: $50/hour / 20 hours a week
The above represents the expected salary range for this role. Ultimately, compensation is determined by level of experience, location, and other job-related factors.
