Senior Network Administrator bei Shaw University

Reporting to the Director of OIT Infrastructure, the Senior Network Administrator supports Shaw University’s
wired and wireless network infrastructure. This position configures network hardware, monitors connectivity, and
ensures network security compliance.

Essential Job Functions:
• Install and configure network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Manage campus LAN/WAN and wireless systems
• Implement and maintain firewall, VPN, and VLAN configurations
• Conduct network monitoring and performance tuning
• Maintain inventory and documentation of all network assets
• Assist in ensuring network compliance with NIST SP 800-171
• Resolve network connectivity issues and support IT helpdesk escalations
• Coordinate with vendors for advanced support and procurement

Minimum Job Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field; 3+ years of
experience in network administration

Certificates, Licenses or Registrations
• CCNA (required or within 6 months of hire), CompTIA Network+ (preferred)

Physical Demands
