$22.84 to $25.12 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Rockledge/Brevard County Emergency Operations Center. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs experienced professional work analyzing and researching data, records, and paperwork associated with the 911 network and associated databases. Work includes analyzing, researching, and coordinating with various partners like Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), wireless, VoIP, and wired phone service providers to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of emergency response systems, updating databases, working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and helping to develop innovative solutions to improve the safety and efficiency of our community.
REQUIREMENTS: Two (2) years [60 semester or 90 quarter hours] of college-level credit with major coursework in computer networks and networking systems, data science, geography, public safety, communications, or a closely related field PLUS four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in computer networks, data science, communications, public safety, technical data input and analysis, and GIS applications. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment, a valid Emergency Number Professional (ENP) certification, issued by the National Emergency Number Association (NENA), and maintain said certification during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
