MAINTENANCE MANAGER

 

Activity sector: Pulp and Paper

Wage: $150,000 - $180,000.00

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour dayshift

YOUR ROLE

The Kruger Kamloops Pulp Mill is looking to hire a full-time Maintenance Manager to join our Leadership team. Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the Maintenance, Stores and Services Departments at the Kamloops Mill. Accountable for safety, plant reliability, and development and management of the Maintenance budget, staff recruitment/training and development, strategic outage planning and continuous improvement of reliability systems and processes. The successful candidate will have an advanced level of knowledge and a demonstrated record in leading and managing world-class safety performance, expertise in world class maintenance leadership, human relations, continuous improvement and a strong technical background.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

ü  Managing maintenance team safety, environment, quality, budgeting and costs while achieving maintenance goals

ü  Developing and implementing maintenance strategies, managing teams, fostering continuous improvement, and contributing to the overall profitability and growth of the operation

ü  Reliability of the plant including strategic outage planning and continuous improvement of systems

ü  Responsible for preparation, maintenance and implementation of the Maintenance Quality and Environmental System

ü  Co-ordinating with Maintenance personnel to ensure that the Kamloops Pulp Business System    is understood, implemented, continuously monitored and improved

ü  Ensuring personnel are trained in job duties and aware of the responsibilities, authorities, and interrelationships of personnel who manage, perform, and verify work affecting their areas

ü  Ensuring the effectiveness of the performance management process for Maintenance

ü  Responsible for ensuring commitment to continuous improvement and prevention of pollution

ü  Ensures that serious environmental, safety, reliability deviations within Maintenance receive the correct level of investigations, and leads Investigations as required, ensuring that identified corrective actions are completed

ü  Involvement in emergency and safety response and preparedness, has authority to initiate mill or mill area shutdown or slowdown based on environmental emergency or compliance issues

ü  Responsible for reporting key metrics to site and corporate stakeholders

ü  Participating in community and stakeholder engagement

ü  Other duties as reasonably assigned.

 

YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES

ü  Strong mechanical aptitude, expertise in reliability and advanced knowledge of continuous improvement principles and techniques

ü  Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral

ü  Skilled in change management, people leadership, and developing a team

ü  Advanced knowledge of capital budgets and long-range planning

ü  Strong technical knowledge in industrial maintenance best practices

ü  Detail oriented with proven organization skills;

ü  Team player who can maintain effective working relationships with other personnel including Union leadership, site leadership, contractors, vendors, etc.;

ü  Knowledge of business and maintenance management systems (ie SAP).

 

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

ü You hold an appropriate technical degree or diploma, or Trade qualifications

ü  You have a minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in industrial maintenance

ü  You hold a PMP, MMP or similar certification
