Job Title: Radiological Controls Technician (RCT)

Position Overview:
RCTs are responsible for gaining and maintaining radiological qualifications, consistent with NRF requirements. The RCT Level 1 performs routine tasks under supervision. Work is often checked in progress or on completion. The RCT Level 1 follow standard practices on recurring assignments but receive explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments. The RCT Level 1 should be able to assist in training, mentoring and radiological controls compliance of workers, Entry Level and other Level 1 RCTs, and is expected to demonstrate increasing responsibility, knowledge, initiative, leadership ability, productivity and reliability as function of experience.

On-site at the Naval Reactors Facility (NRF) in Idaho
Your Day to Day as a Radiological Controls Technician (RCT):
- Provides radiological oversight and leadership for all crew personnel to ensure the highest radiological standards are kept.
- Completes radiological monitoring documentation.
- Interprets radiological controls requirements, participates in task scoping, and provides technical review of work documents.
- Interface with operations personnel concerning radiological issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have high school education or equivalent; two year college degree in math or science is preferred.
- Prior Naval Reactors program experience preferred.
- Strong math skills required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required; no dual citizenship).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain radiological qualifications.
- Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator.
- Special Note: Successful candidate may be required to temporarily relocate to another geographic location to attend training.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the Naval Nuclear Program is preferred, but training in radiological controls will be provided.

Pay: $33.00
The starting rate for this position in Idaho (US-ID) is $33.00 per hour. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, retirement and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment and are subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
