Associate Professor � LPN program

Location: Nashua Community College

CCSNH has established employer status within the New England states (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island). In compliance with CCSNH policies and state regulations, eligibility for employment within CCSNH and its institutions requires residency within a New England state.

SCOPE OF WORK: To educate students in current nursing and LPN methodology and to coordinate departmental activities including developing and evaluating curricula, advising students develop and other program, departmental, and institutional activities that advance the mission of the college. This position is located at Nashua Community College in Nashua, NH and shall report to the Department Chair Allied Health River Valley Community College.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Teaches assigned courses in a classroom, laboratory, and/or clinic /field experiences setting as appropriate for the RVCC nursing and LPN program.
  • Conducts clinical rotations and supervises students in various healthcare settings. Teaching and reinforcing theoretical concepts relevant to clinical practice.
  • Develops instructional materials that integrate theory with applications, observe program and institutional accreditations standards, clearly outline course goals and requirements, comply with established course content, and respond to diverse academic needs of students.
  • Supervises student learning activities and academic progress and maintains accurate records of student progress and accomplishments. Consults with and interprets these to students and maintains accessibility and availability to assist students with their learning needs.
  • Observes all academic policies and procedures and institutional rules and regulations.
  • Participates in departmental activities and operations by assisting in the review and development of credit and non-credit programs and/or courses, seeking and maintaining contact with business and industry within the specialized field of instruction, assisting in articulation initiatives, maintaining educational equipment and spaces, and requisitioning instructional equipment, supplies or classroom materials.
  • Participates in college sponsored recruitment and retention activities by attending admissions events, student orientations, and award ceremonies, and/or advising student activity groups, as assigned.
  • Remains current within the specialized field of instruction through participation in relevant professional associations and educational & training activities.
  • Demonstrates ethical and professional behavior.
  • Serves on college or system committees, as assigned.
  • Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master�s degree in education, nursing, public health, health care administration, health education, or other health related discipline from a regionally accredited college or university. Possession of a master�s degree in education, public health, health care administration, health education or other health related discipline shall require a bachelor�s degree in nursing.

Experience: Three (3) years of teaching experience in the field Nursing or three (3) years� experience as a registered nurse.

OR

Education: Bachelor�s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.

Experience: Four (4) years of teaching experience in the field Nursing or four (4) years� experience as a registered nurse.

Licensure/Certifications: Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse within the State of New Hampshire. Must meet the continuing education requirements by the above Board of Nursing to maintain continuing licensure.
