Family–School Support Liaison (Spanish/English)
Temporary, Title III Grant-Funded
Overview
Stoneham Public Schools is seeking a temporary Family–School Support Liaison to strengthen communication among families, students, and staff at Stoneham High School. This role focuses on supporting English Learner (EL) families, especially Spanish-speaking households, and providing flexible assistance with family engagement, ELE compliance, and other school needs.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and support families during registration, enrollment, and school transitions.
- Assist families in navigating district communication, school policies, and resources.
- Provide interpretation/translation support when appropriate.
- Support ELE documentation, including Home Language Surveys and parent notifications.
- Assist with assessments—as needed (e.g., WIDA Screener, ACCESS) under ESL staff guidance.
- Collaborate with staff to connect students and families to services.
- Provide general support for family engagement and other duties as assigned at SHS.
Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (oral and written).
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with families, educators, and administrators.
- Experience working with multilingual families or English Learners preferred.
- Familiarity with DESE ELE requirements helpful, but not required.
Additional Information
- This position is funded through the Title III grant and is temporary.
- 50 total hours, compensated with a $2,000 stipend.
- Knowledge of additional languages in the Stoneham community is a plus.
