REPORTS TO: Building administrator

SALARY: $18.98- $24.05, depending on experience.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This 7-hour position begins as soon as possible. This is a 183 per year position. Salary and benefits to be established in accordance with the negotiated Classified salary schedule.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Support teaching staff in a high school alternative education setting by implementing teacher-developed instructional activities, maintaining accurate student records, and assisting with classroom management and supervision. Perform additional related duties as assigned.

This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a dedication to ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed, recognizing and addressing barriers to academic achievement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Meet ESSA requirements: two years (72+ quarter credits) college credit or successful completion of Work Keys test prior to hiring.
Experience working with high school-aged students preferred.
Physical characteristics needed: ability to communicate with co-workers, students, and the public; ability to communicate over the telephone; ability to hear (must respond to telephone, bells, students, co-workers, etc.); ability to see (must respond to classroom disturbances, visual cues, student requests, etc.); ability to operate office equipment; ability to carry or lift light loads (25 lbs) and occasionally climb a ladder.

PREFERENCES:

May be given to those who are bilingual in Spanish and English.
