Position Title: High School Special Education Paraprofessional
Start Date: As soon as the position is filled. Position Summary
The Special Education Paraprofessional supports the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of students with disabilities by assisting certified teachers in delivering instruction and support services. This role plays a vital part in fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Essential Duties & Responsibilties
Instructional Support
Implement lesson plans and individualized education programs (IEPs) under the direction of the teacher.
Provide academic support and reinforcement in both one-on-one and small group settings.
Adapt and modify instructional materials as directed to meet student learning needs.
Behavioral Assistance
Support classroom management by reinforcing rules and expectations.
Implement and assist with behavior intervention plans.
Help de-escalate emotionally charged situations while modeling and teaching appropriate social skills.
Data Collection & Documentation
Monitor and record student progress toward IEP goals.
Document daily activities, behavior, and health-related services as required.
Provide feedback to the teacher and team on student performance and needs.
Personal Care & Student Support
Assist students with personal hygiene, feeding, mobility, and other activities of daily living, when needed.
Support safe transitions between classrooms and activities.
Classroom Management & Organization
Prepare and organize instructional materials, equipment, and resources.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment, including sanitizing work areas.
Supervision
Monitor students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, transitions, and field trips.
Ensure student safety and provide guidance during unstructured times.
Collaboration
Work closely with teachers, related service providers, and administrators to meet student needs.
Communicate effectively with staff and parents in support of student growth and success.
Participate in training and professional development to strengthen skills and knowledge.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Proof of passing the ParaPro Test and/or two years or more of completed A.A. College Degree.
Timeframe: 7:45am - 3:00pm

Range: $18.79/hr - $25.00/hr
Placement is based on experience and education level, as per district guidelines.
