Shipping and Receiving Clerk Position Purpose The job of Shipping and Receiving Clerk is done for the purpose/s of pulling and loading orders for delivery; ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct; verifying stock and identifying losses; and maintaining an organized layout and safe work environment.
Essential Job Functions?
- Coordinates delivery of received items for the purpose of ensuring items ordered are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
- Processes report requests, documents, deliveries and/or materials (e.g. items received to accounts payable) for the purpose of disseminating information and/or materials to appropriate parties.
- Records information (e.g. purchase order, items requested, items received) for the purpose of accurately recording information in District’s computer program.
- Responds to inquiries (e.g. from accounts payable, administrators, etc.) for the purpose of providing requested information and/or referring to appropriate resources.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Equipment Uses hand tools of trade and related power equipment, including saws, drills, routers, planers, sanders, jointers, and stationary power equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Speak fluent English and Spanish
- Knowledge of fundamental tools, materials, practices, maintenance, methods and procedures in the carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades.
- Knowledge of building code conformance standards for carpentry, plumbing, electricity, electrical installation, and repair.
- Knowledge of occupational safety and health laws and regulations.
- Ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor, and to coordinate work with others.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
- Ability to describe orally or in writing maintenance or repair problems as needed.
- Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and resolve electrical or electricity issues.
- Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.
Safety Requirements - Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper use of tools and power equipment used.
- Wears appropriate safety gear.
Travel Requirements Frequent travel between schools, or between schools and central offices, may be required.
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 50% sitting, 25% walking, and 25% standing.

Qualifications Profile Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- High School Diploma.
- Job related experience is desired.
- Motor Vehicle Operator's license or ability to provide own transportation.
