$15-$18/hour DOQ, 1.5 hours/week: 2 - 45 min class offering, beginning November; Saturday mornings 9a-10:30a

Under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, the Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for the teaching of gymnastics/tumbling skills and supervision of students.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Must be 16 years old
- Must have previous instruction and experience in the gymnastics/tumbling/cheerleading field.
- Must be self-motivated and responsible.
- Ability to follow directions and communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to teach a variety of levels in a group setting.
- Ability to deal with residents, staff and job responsibilities under stressful conditions.
- Ability to control children within a classroom setting.
- Must be able to respond to and handle children’s behaviors in a positive appropriate manner.
- CPR/First Aid certification, preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following tasks:
- Provide participants with general information regarding the expectations and format of the classes.
- Provide a fun and safe environment to learn the essentials of various gymnastics/tumbling skills.
- Updates class attendance sheets every day classes meet.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.
- Demonstrate various gymnastics/tumbling moves.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with subordinates, co-workers and the general public.
- Participates at required staff meetings and training sessions.
- Wears appropriate attire during working hours.
- Carry out the directions of the Athletics Coordinator.
- Treats public complaints and concerns with the utmost attention. Is courteous in all cases.
- May perform other duties as necessary.
