Job Responsibilities
- Develop, manage and execute high-quality events and functions to support division priorities and initiatives. This includes special attention to stewardship
- activities, alumni recognition and foundation/corporate activities and other cultivation events.
- Create and lead in communicating event briefings and information to leadership.
- Act as a primary contact for assigned events managed by the engagement team in managing seamless execution of each event.
- Fulfill adhoc event planning requests and committee participation for the university’s special constituencies in collaboration with other campus divisions and partners. to lead event impact
- Act as an event operations advisor for University Advancement staff, providing expertise in conceptualization, planning, communication, marketing timelines, and overall event management.
- As a part of the University Advancement Engagement Strategy create and evaluate event/engagement follow-up including post event mailings and outreach.
- Create and implement post-event analyses to assess opportunities, coordinate appropriate follow-up and evaluation and make recommendations for improvements as appropriate.
- Provide content for the overall maintenance of engagement resource tools for the department and division.

Required Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in alumni relations, event planning, fundraising, and/or volunteer management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong track record of success in marketing, event management and communication
- Ability to think strategically and lead initiatives
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Intermediate technical skills including proficiency in MS Office applications
- Willingness to travel, as well as flexibility to work some evenings and weekends

Job Summary
The Director of Strategic Engagement works under the guidance of the Senior Director of Strategic Engagement and with all members of the advancement staff to secure the highest level of support for the university by assisting with the cultivation of the university’s highest level prospects. The Director is responsible for the planning, coordinating, and execution of cultivation, recognition and stewardship events that support the institutional advancement efforts.
