Summary 

As an Accounting Intern on the Finance team, you will support CSS Farms’ financial systems through data organization, financial reporting, and compliance efforts. This internship offers hands-on experience in managing accounting data, assisting with routine financial tasks, and supporting procurement and operational tracking. You will gain exposure to the business by working with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial records, streamline reporting processes, and assist with budget monitoring. This role is ideal for someone interested in understanding the intersection of finance, operations, and data management in an agricultural business environment.

Responsibilities 

In this role, you will: 

  • Assist in organizing and maintaining financial datasets to support accounting operations.
  • Support data entry, validation, and reconciliation tasks within accounting systems.
  • Help prepare and review financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to track purchase orders, vendor invoices, and payment statuses.
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly close processes by gathering and analyzing financial data.
  • Maintain accurate records for audits, compliance, and reporting purposes.
  • Assist in monitoring budget vs. actual spending across departments.
  • Uphold confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive financial information.

 

 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field. 
  • Familiarity with data collection software and protocols 

 

Desired Qualifications 

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting or ERP systems is a plus.
  • Interest or experience in procurement, budgeting, or operations support.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and perform data entry and reconciliation tasks.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a team environment.
