Job Title: Registered Fostering Manager - Supervising Social Worker
Location: Aldridge Town Centre
Contract Type: Full Time/Permanent
Working Hours: Monday – Friday (40 hours/per week)
Salary: £45,000 per annum + Bonus
The Role
We are supporting a client to who is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Fostering Manager to lead and oversee its fostering service. This is a pivotal role, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care for foster children and supporting the team of Assessing and Supervising Social Workers. You will play a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, driving service improvement, and fostering a culture of excellence within the organisation.
Key Duties:
- Provide leadership and oversight to Assessing and Supervising Social Workers, ensuring high-quality practice and professional development.
- Manage the fostering panel, including panel members and administrative processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for OfSTED, maintaining strong working relationships and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
- Oversee the completion and review of essential foster carer documentation, including unannounced visits, risk assessments, safer caring plans, and health and safety reports.
- Ensure foster carers complete mandatory training, including the Training, Support and Development Standards (TSDs), within required timeframes.
- Monitor and support the progress of foster children, ensuring care plans, placement plans, and delegated authority agreements are regularly reviewed and updated.
- Lead and participate in LAC reviews, PEPs, EHCPs, and other key meetings to advocate for the needs of foster children and carers.
- Organise and facilitate support groups, training days, and events for foster carers and their families.
- Collaborate with the Agency Decision Maker (ADM) and Independent Reviewing Officer to ensure timely approvals and reviews of foster carers.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A recognised social work qualification (e.g., Social Work Degree or equivalent) and current Social Work England registration.
- Significant experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a fostering service or similar children’s social care setting.
- In-depth knowledge of fostering regulations, OfSTED standards, and safeguarding requirements.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, support, and develop a team.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, including local authorities and foster carers.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach, with experience in managing complex cases and driving service improvements.
