This is a benefited, full time position (64 hours every 2 weeks) working an 8-hr varied shift schedule. Shifts are on a rotation during the weekdays and are generally 6:45am-3:15pm, 9am-5:30pm, or 11:30a-8pm. Every other weekend (both Saturdays and Sundays) and holiday flexibility is required (8am-5pm for weekends and holidays). Located at Scripps Clinic in Carmel Valley but you will be required to float to neighboring Scripps HealthExpress locations as needed.

What you'll do:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Perform patient care services that support the providers and clinic
  • Front Office responsibilities such as registration, scheduling, patient check-ins, collecting co-pays and check-outs
  • Clinical support by checking patient vitals, rooming patients, stocking exam rooms, point of care duties, immunizations, covid swabbing, and providing patient education
  • Wide variety of acute care patients
  • Patient volumes of 25 and up per day (sometimes as high as 50)

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
  • BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year MA experience in an outpatient setting
  • Pediatric experience 
  • Experience with injections and vaccines
  • Experience with PPD (tuberculin) placement
