JOB SUMMARY

The OE, Lead is responsible for aligning business operations with the company's mission by driving strategic planning, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. This role serves as a key consultant and business partner to leadership, identifying and executing initiatives that improve processes, enhance efficiency, and support sustainable growth across the organization.

Working across departments such as R&D, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Business Development, the OE Leader acts as a change agent and problem solver. They deliver measurable results through Lean Six Sigma methodologies, lead and mentor belt-level professionals, and contribute to the broader Operational Excellence strategy across sites and business units.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and deliver site-wide Operational Excellence (OE) strategies aligned with corporate goals.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Manufacturing to produce forecasting models, executive presentations, and performance updates.
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events, improvement workshops, and Six Sigma projects (DMAIC, A3, PDCA, etc.).
  • Mentor and coach Green Belts and Yellow Belts; train team members on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Identify and prioritize continuous improvement initiatives with demonstrable ROI; act as liaison to Finance for impact validation.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including RFP design and client-facing executive representation.
  • Serve as a bridge across cross-functional teams (R&D, Manufacturing, PM) to align deliverables, scope, timelines, and client engagement.
  • Support PMO activities to ensure project delivery and long-term sustainability of improvements.
  • Facilitate mapping and analysis of business processes and support the development of standard work practices.
  • Lead change management efforts, gaining stakeholder buy-in and driving cultural adoption of OE practices.
  • Monitor and report on key metrics across functional teams to drive accountability and performance improvements.
  • Coordinate with sister organizations to align on current book of business and strategic opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in Science/Engineering degree preferred
  • 5+ years experience in a Lean Six sigma focused role
  • 10+ years experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

  • Extensive experience in facilitating Kaizen events and coaching delivery of improvement projects
  • Change management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with senior leaders across a variety of professions, countries, languages, and chemical industry aptitudes
  • In-depth knowledge of chemical manufacturing best practices, industry norms, and current market trends
  • Ability to produce and present executive level presentations, operational executive summaries, and business updates/guides for executives and board members

CERTIFICATIONS and LICENSES

  • Black Belt Certified (ideally master black belt)
