Across our 60+ locations, we provide programs in a variety of service areas, including workforce development, children, youth, families, seniors and homeless prevention.
East Concourse Older Adult Center: Hosting spaces where new friendships are made, creating opportunities for older adults to thrive, connect and explore, providing support to successfully navigate life.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruit, interview and recommend new hires
- Establish and monitor quality assurance of program goals in compliance with agency and contract expectations
- Monitor program’s contractual compliance and meet with contract manager during site visits
- Act as a conduit with funding source
- Attend internal and external agency/contract meetings
- Attend contract and agency training sessions as provide
- Conduct monthly staff meetings or more frequently as required
- Supervise and evaluate staff performance, providing monthly written feedback
- Complete each staff members’ annual performance review
- Provide staff training on program goals and duties as well as expectations to the agency
- Meet monthly with supervisor for exchange of ideas and written feedback
- Submit monthly reports to supervisor and funding source
- Perform additional duties as assigned
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and meet programmatic outcomes
- Document activities in DFTA and agency database or any other database designated
- Conduct outreach and recruit program participants
- Seeking out community organizations and resources to provide partnerships, presentations, and information relevant to Older Adults.
- Conduct intake and enrollment
- Meet with staff regularly
- Review budgets and monitor spending
- Develop annual work scope and modify as needed
- Develop and conduct groups as needed
- Monitor, guide, and support staff
- Develop and modify program calendar to meet program needs
- Ensure site is operational
- Prepare site(s) for audit reviews
- Available to work on cooling and warming days (may include evenings and weekends)
- Assist at other OAC’s and NORC’s as neededr.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree, or a minimum of two years providing direct services to older adults
- Other experience required including supervisory, administrative and/or contract management
- Proficiency in modern business communications including personal computers, electronic mail, voicemail, facsimile and copier equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork.
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
