Job Summary:

 

The Family Childcare Early Educator Supervisor is responsible for the leadership, guidance, and oversight of daily operations within a family childcare setting. This role ensures the provision of a high-quality, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children, while also supporting the professional growth of educators and fostering strong partnerships with families. 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Design, implement, and supervise engaging, age-appropriate educational programs that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. 

Provide direct supervision, guidance, training, and mentorship to early educators, fostering a positive, collaborative, and supportive team environment. 

  • Child Welfare & Safety: 

Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating physical environment in accordance with EEC licensing and other regulatory guidelines. Conduct regular inspections with FCC coordinators and maintain safety protocols. 

  • Child Assessment & Progress Tracking: 

Oversee the process of regularly assessing children's development and progress, adapting teaching strategies and the curriculum to meet individual needs. 

  • Parent & Family Engagement: 

Maintain open and cooperative communication with parents, providing updates on their child's development and addressing concerns to build strong family-program partnerships. Person will work closely with Family Focus staff.

  • Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: 

Ensure that the family childcare programs complies with all applicable state and local regulations, including health, safety, and licensing requirements. 

 

Respond to and document any incidents or concerns related to children, and report suspected abuse to the appropriate DCF supervisor, and FCC office staff.


Qualifications & Skills: 

 

  • Master’s Degree and experience in early childhood education and childcare.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, staff, and families.
  • Knowledge of child development, curriculum planning, and early childhood education best practices.
  • Ability to ensure and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Provide other duties as needed.
