Join the team at Reserve at Barry, in Kansas City, Missouri as a Maintenance Supervisor II and take the lead in managing the maintenance operations for a professionally managed apartment community focused on quality, safety, and resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and develop the maintenance team, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Oversee daily maintenance operations including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, appliances, pools, and grounds.
- Manage preventive maintenance, work orders, make-readies, and emergency responses.
- Partner with the Property Manager and Regional Director on budgets, purchasing, vendor management, and large-scale projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and housing regulations (OSHA, EPA, Fair Housing, ADA).
- Conduct regular inspections of units, buildings, amenities, and grounds; correct unsafe conditions immediately.
- Maintain accurate records for maintenance activities, inventory, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary contact for contractors, vendors, and local code enforcement.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of maintenance experience, with at least 2 years supervising staff (multifamily preferred).
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, carpentry, and appliance repair.
- CPO and HVAC certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs, inventory control, and vendor management.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently (and up to 100 lbs. occasionally).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; valid driver’s license required.
