Overview:

Continental Electronics Corporation is a leading provider of RF technologies and innovative solutions with over 75 years of proven performance. CEC has experienced significant recent growth and has established itself as the go-to supplier for a diversified product line supporting a wide spectrum of markets from commercial products, military customers, to space research laboratories.

 

We are looking to add more members to our cleaning team. The successful candidate will provide custodial/janitorial assignments to maintain an orderly appearance in all buildings, grounds, courtyards, and will clean the facility in cooperation with other team members. Should be available to work at both Dallas and upcoming Richardson locations.

Responsibilities:
  • Sweeps and/or dust mops cement or tile floors on a daily basis
  • Vacuums carpeted areas as required
  • Damp mops cement or tile floors as needed, including cafeteria areas on a daily basis
  • Picks up and empties trash on a daily basis from all areas including emptying machine cuttings from machine shops
  • Cleans restrooms on a daily basis, including porcelain equipment, walls, and mirrors, fills all paper towel, toilet paper, seat cover dispensers, and soap dispensers as needed
  • Cleans ledges, windowsills, counters, furniture, baseboards, etc, as needed
  • Utilizes special procedures in clean room areas such as vacuuming complete area, mopping with a nylon mop, and ensuring that all surfaces are dusted on a weekly basis
  • Cleans cafeteria and kitchen areas on a daily basis, including arranging tables and chairs, cleaning drinking fountains, and replenishing dispensers as required
  • May wax floors utilizing industrial equipment, cleaning agents, and waxes
  • Cleans walls utilizing both spot cleaning procedures and wall master wall washing machine
  • Washes both the inside and outside of windows utilizing the necessary equipment
  • May replace fluorescent tubes and incandescent lights and clean fixtures as necessary; change ballast with a minimum of supervision
  • May perform grounds maintenance under the direction of a senior groundskeeper
  • Cleans around shipping and receiving docks and related areas as required
  • May move office furniture and equipment

  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business
Qualifications:

• Must have basic knowledge of floor care procedures, tools, and industrial strippers, waxes, cleaners, and shampoos. Must have a minimum of one (1) year related experience

Tools & Equipment Used
Brooms, dust mops, wet mops, mop buckets, wringers, brushes, buffers, vacuum cleaners, carpet shampooers, wall washing machines, window washing equipment, wet and dry pick-up machines, bubble dollies, ladders, forklifts, etc.

 

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
