Role Overview: The Quality Project Manager at RAE Corporation is responsible for leading the organization’s efforts to achieve ISO 9001 certification, developing and implementing quality procedures, conducting comprehensive audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role ensures that all processes within the organization meet the highest standards of quality and compliance, supporting RAE Corporation’s goals of being the most desirable place to work, achieving $200M in revenue, and becoming the favorite business partner for our customers.

ISO 9001 Certification:
• Lead the project to achieve ISO 9001 certification within 12 months.
• Develop a detailed project plan and coordinate with all departments to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
• Prepare for and facilitate ISO 9001 certification audits, ensuring all documentation and processes meet the required standards.
Procedure Development and Documentation:
• Write, review, and update quality procedures, work instructions, and policies to align with ISO 9001 standards.
• Ensure all procedures are clearly documented and easily accessible to relevant personnel.
• Train employees on new and revised procedures to ensure understanding and compliance.
Process Auditing:
• Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with ISO 9001 standards and internal quality procedures.
• Develop audit schedules and checklists to ensure thorough evaluations of all processes.
• Document audit findings, identify areas for improvement, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvements based on audit findings and quality data analysis.
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Implement Lean, Six Sigma, or other quality improvement methodologies as appropriate.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with production, engineering, supply chain, and other departments to address quality issues and implement best practices.
• Support new product development projects by providing quality input during design reviews and testing phases.
• Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving sessions to address complex quality issues.
Quality Management:
• Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and implement quality control plans and testing protocols for products and processes.
• Ensure all products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
Training and Development:
• Develop and deliver training programs on quality standards, procedures, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Mentor and coach team members and other employees on quality practices and problem-solving techniques.
Reporting and Communication:
• Prepare and present quality reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators, audit results, and improvement initiatives.
• Maintain open and effective communication channels with all stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality objectives and initiatives.
Supplier Quality Management:
• Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure supplier quality aligns with RAE Corporation’s standards.
• Conduct supplier audits and manage supplier quality performance.
• Develop and implement procedures for supplier qualification and evaluation.
Customer Interaction:
• Act as a liaison with customers on quality-related matters.
• Address customer complaints and concerns promptly, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure customer feedback is incorporated into quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or an equivalent degree and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality or project management, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and certification processes.
• Proficient in quality control tools and statistical methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Working Environment: Work is performed in office and production floor environments at a manufacturer of refrigeration and HVAC equipment. The employee is often exposed to moving mechanical parts, high voltage electricity, and forklift traffic.
