 Position Summary

This position will be an integral resource within the Accounting/Finance Team of Crimson Wine Group.  The position is primarily responsible for actively participating in the monthly close process, maintaining General Ledger accounts, completing account reconciliations (including proposed adjusting entries), analyzing business transactions as well as assisting with financial reporting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Key contributor to the monthly close and reporting process responsible for preparation of general journal entries, payroll related entries, monthly accruals, fixed assets depreciation, adjusting and reclassification journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations and subsequent flux analysis
  • Accounting for bank activities and reconciliation of all cash accounts
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset sub-ledger including fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, asset tracking, fixed asset roll-forward reconciliation, and fixed asset internal reporting (CAPEX)
  • Monthly reconciliation of merchant fees charged by credit card processing companies
  • Perform general account analysis, as assigned
  • Responsible for maintaining functional area internal controls in compliance with SOX 
  • Administer company purchasing-card (credit card) program, assisting users, reconciling and recording activities
  • Validate and prepare customer invoices for all Wholesale orders as well as miscellaneous invoicing. 
  • Maintain customer subledger, respond to inquiries and propose issue remediation as needed.
  • Lead quarterly SOX compliance, AR Aging review meeting.
  • Prepare and file California sales and use tax returns.
  • Prepare and file Property Taxes
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve outstanding balances in a timely manner.
  • Prepare deposits for physical checks and electronic payments received.
  • Prepare financial audit files assigned and respond to audit inquiries on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist with special projects to improve operating efficiency of department

Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Accounting (BA/BS) or comparable work experience
  • General understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • 3 or more years of experience in general accounting or tax required.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively, communicating directly and early to management when deadlines are at risk.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with a high level of integrity.
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written, with employees and external parties at all levels.
  • Strong team orientation and passion for working with cross functional departments.
  • Passion and curiosity for continuous process improvement

 

The projected (base) pay range for this position is $95K to $105K per year. The range is the projected compensation for this position however the actual compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as (but not limited to) candidate qualifications, related experience and education, candidate work location and market data. Crimson Wine Group reserves the right to modify the pay range/rate at any time in the future.
