For this role you will be working at our plant location in Cabot, VT. The position works as a team with Scheduling, Sourcing, and Demand Planning to maintain operational inventory of materials and ingredients. You will be responsible for the creation of purchase orders, maintaining price lists, processing acknowledgments, coordinating material and ingredient trials with sourcing, scheduling and plant operations, while ensuring procurement compliance. This position is a fast-paced, time critical part of the Sourcing and Procurement team requiring extreme attention to detail and the ability to make concise, independent decisions. Occasional day trips to our plants in Chateaugay, NY and Middlebury, VT will also be required.
- Responsible for analyzing stock status, sales trends, and demand planning.
- Assesses anticipated promotional activity as it relates to replenishment of packaging and commodity inventories to maintain appropriate safety stocks within that category.
- Acknowledge all purchase orders with suppliers, making business partners aware of any delays or pricing changes.
- Working directly with Master Schedulers to maintain all assigned Ingredient and Material price lists.
- Provide tactical resources to all goods and services used in facilities assigned
- Coordinate, track and report Material and Ingredient trials
- Coordinate periodic Supplier Audits of Materials and Ingredients used in the facility
- Works closely with suppliers on lead times, raw material status to ensure finished goods arrive on time while building relationships.
What we are seeking:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required
- 1 year of experience in procurement or scheduling in a CPG industry
- Strong project and business management skills
- Strong strategic thinking and problem solving
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills
- Occasional overnight travel to suppliers, industry trade shows, and other as needed 5-10%
Salary range $55-67k
