We’re looking for a Payroll Manager who is energized by accuracy, thrives under pressure, and enjoys building strong relationships across HR, Finance, and operations. This role oversees payroll for 1,200+ team members across multiple states and ensures that every paycheck is accurate, on time, and compliant—every single time.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end processing of regular and off-cycle payrolls for multiple states and FEINs.
  • Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Administer the company’s 401(k) plan, manage garnishments, and oversee tax registrations in new jurisdictions.
  • Audit payroll data, maintain accurate records, and deliver reports that help leaders make informed decisions.
  • Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation.
  • Act as the go-to expert for payroll inquiries, providing timely, professional, and solutions-focused responses.
  • Partner with HR on employee lifecycle changes and train managers on timekeeping and payroll processes.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, leveraging technology and vendor relationships to streamline payroll operations.


Requirements

 What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of HR/Payroll experience with strong knowledge of payroll compliance, FLSA, and multi-state regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong data storytelling skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage complexity under tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills—able to build trust, maintain confidentiality, and communicate clearly with all levels.
  • Proven ability to lead projects, solve problems independently, and continuously improve processes.
  • Flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
